Justice League: The New Frontier, the animated adaptation of Darwyn Cooke’s celebrated miniseries, is an excellent distillation of that work. Although it focuses on the superheroes, screenwriter Stan Berkowitz and director David Bullock are able to tell their story efficiently without sacrificing too much of the book’s considerable charms. Thus, JL:NF remains very faithful, and the spirit of the book comes through clearly.

For those who might not have read it, The New Frontier is the story of a DC-America struggling, in the transitory years of the 1950s, to maintain some sense of stability in a world on the cusp of significant change. The book opened with non-costumed wartime characters such as The Losers and Task Force X, and devoted many pages to the Challengers of the Unknown. This adaptation cuts out most of those folks in favor of three main characters: Hal “Green Lantern” Jordan, J’Onn J’Onzz, and Barry “Flash” Allen. Hal is a reluctant soldier with bigger dreams; J’Onn must hide from a paranoid society; and Barry is a humble guy who just wants to make the world better. In the course of uniting against a common threat, they each prove themselves to a particular set of establishment figures, and thereby fulfill the forward-looking promise of the Space Age of the ’60s.

While the events of the book have been edited considerably to fit the movie’s designated length, the changes serve mostly to consolidate dramatic functions in certain characters. For example, Batman has a bigger role in the film’s climax, and Lois Lane’s relationship with Superman is fleshed out more. John Henry’s story is condensed into a news report, but it has the same effect on J’Onn J’Onzz. One of the most noticeable changes is to The Centre itself. It’s pretty much the same as it is in the book, but in a couple of very creepy scenes, the filmmakers “characterize” it (for lack of a better term) somewhat differently.

If you are not familiar with Chow’s work, go rent Kung Fu Hustle and you’ll be hooked!  The versions of his films I have seen are in Chinese with English subtitles.  For you who can’t keep up – don’t worry.  There is not complex dialogue with tiny words that will get you lost.  Even the unfamiliar to foreign films can totally appreciate his work since he embellishes his story with relevant visuals and expressive acting.

The story centers on a destitute man and his young son.  The mother has died from illness and they live in very meager surroundings, chasing cockroaches for amusement.  He works an extremely laborious construction position in order to send his young son to a fancy school so that he will have a better future.  To them, a simple electric fan is a luxury.

The actor who plays his son Dicky, Xu Jian, is not only brilliant – but is actually a girl!  She truly steals the show and is rather convincing as a young lad.  In addition, there are other extremely talented young child actors that are exceptionally cast.  The real star of the film though, CJ7, is very fun and animated convincingly.

Overall, this is a movie that you can take the whole family to OR see with just adults.  Like all of his movies, there is over-the-top human ability and stylized “violence” that is completely non-offensive.  Do yourself a favor – go see it when it releases!  If you aren’t in a location where it is showing then get the DVD when it is available.

Hal itulah yang diperhatikan Hanung. Dia mengatakan amat memperhitungkan bentuk wajah masing-masing pemain sebelum memilih. Tokoh Fahri adalah orang Indonesia asli. Cocok dengan wajah Fedi yang sangat Indonesia. Maria Girgis diperankan oleh Carissa Putri. dan Rianti cocok jadi Aisha (her eyes so beautiful) . Zaskia jadi Noura, nurul di perankan oleh melanie putri..

Berikut adalah cuplikan cerita singkat dari AAC di mulai dari pertengahan Cerita :

Saat fahri yang baru saja menikah dengan aisah, tiba - tiba saja di tangkap oleh polisi, karena di fitnah telah memperkosa noura, pernyataan dari polisi ini sungguh membuat kaget Fahri dan Aisah. lalu Fahri di penjara, dan Aisah harus berjuang mati - matian untuk membebaskan Fahri. Maria yang sedang bersedih karena di tinggal nikah oleh sahabat nya fahri, tiba - tiba di tabrak oleh 2 orang penjahat, ternyata itu adalah awal dari semua masalah Fahri. Aisah mencari bantuan dari pengacara di Indonesia , Sidang pertama di mulai, kesaksian demi kesaksian telah memberatkan Fahri , dan akhirnya sidang di tunda beberapa hari.. Aisah terus menerus mencari siapa kah Fahri itu sebenarnya, karena ia juga sebenarnya baru mengenal fahri, setelah di pertemukan oleh orang tua nya. Detik demi detik Aisah mencari bukti bukti bahwa Fahri sebenarnya di fitnah dan tidak bersalah.

Aisah pergi mencari Maria, karena ia tahu bahwa Maria adalah teman dekat nya Fahri . Aisah pergi ke rumah Maria, dan melihat kondisi maria yang terbaring di tempat tidur. lalu ia mengunjungi Fahri di penjara, dan menyuruh Fahri untuk merekam Suara nya yang meberitahukan bawhwa Fahri sebenaranya Kagum pada nya. Sewaktu di penjara fahri satu sel dengan 1 narapidana mesir, dia tertawa ketika melihat Fahri tidak bisa konsen untuk melakukan sholat, lalu fahri menerima 1 pucuk surat dari kampus nya Universitas Al-Azhar mesir, memberitahukan bahwa ia telah di keluarkan dari kampus. si narapidana itu tertawa terbahak-bahak sambil membaca surat itu. Fahri pun menangis dan bersedih. lalu si narapidana itu memberitahukan nya 1 hal, tentang cerita Nabi Yusuf AS. lalu Fahri pun menjadi tenang dan terus bermunajat kepada Allah.swt . Sidang kedua di mulai dengan kesaksian noura yang semakin memberatkan Fahri, karena telah mengandung anak nya fahri. Pengacara fahri meminta untuk menunda sampai anak dari noura lahir, tapi permintaan itu tidak di kabulkan dan sidang di tutup sementara. Aisah , fahri , keluarga dan pengacara nya menyusun rencana, dan Fahri baru tahu kalau Maria kecelakaan. Lalu Pengacara Aisah/fahri meminta bantuan kepada Dutabesar German agar bisa membebaskan Fahri selama beberapa hari, Hal ini pun disetujui Karena Aisah masih berwarga negara German.

Setelah Fahri bebas sementara waktu, ia pergi bersama Aisah ke Rumah Sakit tempat Maria di rawat. Kondisi Maria pada saat itu sangat parah. Aisah meminta Fahri untuk menikahi Maria, dan Pernikahan pun di langsungkan dengan rasa berat hati pada Aisah. Lalu setelah menikah Maria pun sadar. dan Pada sidang terkahir, Pengacara Fahri membawa saksi kunci yaitu adalah Maria dan menceritakan semua nya dengan bukti 2 yang valid. Noura pun merasa terpukul, dan membeberkan semuanya, ternyata cerita fitnah ini di dalangi oleh Bahadur, dan Fahri pun bebas dari Penjara. Bahadur pun di tangkap polisi.

Sekarang Maria , Aisah dan Fahri hidup berdampingan, Oups, bukan akhir cerita lho, akhirnya Maria meningga dalam keadaan sholat karena penyakit yang telah di derita nya! Aisah dan Fahri pun hidup bahagia dan di karuniai 1 orang anak. Ingat Bahwa jodoh itu di tangan Tuhan, dan segala sesuatunya pun telah di atur. Maha Besar Allah…
